ABOUT MEMBERSHIP

There are three ways in which to become a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.

LETTER OF TRANSFER:       If you are currently an active member of another church.
PROFESSION OF FAITH:      If you have never been a member of another church.
REAFFIRMATION OF FAITH: If you were formerly a member of another church, but a letter of transfer is not available.

In uniting with Faith Presbyterian Church, you will need to publicly respond in the affirmative to the following questions:
Do you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord?
Do you seek to live your life seeking His guidance and direction?
Do you intend to be active in this congregation, worshiping, regularly, praying daily, and involving yourselves in the life of the church?

As an expression of your covenant with Jesus Christ and with this Church, we ask you to affirm the following for yourself:

PROTECTING THE UNITY OF MY CHURCH I WILL...
Act in love toward other members
Refuse to gossip
Follow the leadership of the church
Romans 14:19; “So let us concentrate on the things which make for harmony, and on the growth of the fellowship.  I Peter 1:22; "Have a sincere love for other believers, love one another earnestly."

SHARING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MY CHURCH I WILL...
Pray for its spiritual and numerical growth
Invite those who do know Christ to attend
Welcome warmly those who visit
Romans 15:7; "So, warmly welcome each other into the church, just as Christ has warmly welcomed you.  Then God will be glorified."  I Thessalonians 1:2; "We always thank God for you and pray for you constantly."

SERVING IN THE MINISTRY OF MY CHURCH I WILL...
Discover my gifts and talents
Become equipped to serve with my pastor
Develop a servants heart
I Peter 4:10; “Serve one another with the particular gifts God has given each of you."  Philippians 2:3-4, 7; "Each of you should not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.  Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus, who...took on the very nature of a servant."

SUPPORTING THE WITNESS OF MY CHURCH I WILL...
Attend faithfully
Participate in the life of the church in some way
Give regularly
Those wishing to be a part of the church are required to attend an orientation session which we call 'Discovering Faith'. Discovering Faith is generally held on Sunday mornings during the Sunday school time (11:00 – 12:00). If you wish to make arrangements to attend the next Discovering Faith, please talk with the pastor or contact the church office at 815-385-5388.
