Faith Presbyterian Church

We Are Committed to...

The Fatherhood of God:  We believe that the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who out of nothing created the heaven and earth with all that is in them (Ps. 90:1-2, Is. 44:24), who also upholds and governs them by his eternal counsel and providence, is for the sake of Christ his Son our God and our Father (Gal.3:26).  Therefore, we acknowledge our dependence upon God our Father and celebrate the privilege of being children of God.

The person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ:  We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man.  He is Lord of all as declared in Acts 4:12.  “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”  He was conceived of the Holy Spirit born of the Virgin Mary.  He suffered and died on the cross for our sins according to the Scriptures.  He arose bodily and ascended into heaven where he now ever intercedes for us.  Therefore the Lord Jesus is and will be the focal point of our worship, our service and our lives.

The person and work of the Holy Spirit:  We believe that the Holy Spirit has been sent to teach us all things (Jn.14:26), each believer receives the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38-39), and each believer is given a manifestation of the Spirit for the common good (1 Cor. 12:4-7).  Therefore, we will encourage and direct individuals to find, nurture and utilize their gifts in the service of our God.

The relevant preaching of the Word of God:  We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians (II Timothy 3:16).  It is as relevant today as when it was written (Hebrews 4:12).  Therefore, we will strive to equip the Body of Christ through the teaching and preaching of God's Word in various and multiple formats, that we may follow Christ in all aspects of our lives.

To prayer:  We believe that God desires his people to pray, and that he hears and answers prayer (Matthew 7:7-11).  Therefore, the ministries and activities of Faith Presbyterian Church will be characterized by a dependence upon prayer in their every part.

To mission:  We believe that God has called us to declare the Good News to all people in all places (Acts 1:8).  The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) instructs us to think globally when we consider the work of the Kingdom of God.  Therefore, we will support the work of missions on the local, national and international levels.

To nurturing one another:  As the Body of Christ, we believe that God calls us into community with other believers.  In this relationship we are to mutually care for one another (John 13:34), minister to one another (First Thes. 5:11), and to build one another up in Christ (Gal. 6:2).  Therefore, we will endeavor to create the kind of atmosphere wear nurturing takes place.

To the ministry of the laity:  The leadership of the church is directed to prepare God's people for works of service (Ephesians 4:12).  Therefore, the ministries of Faith Presbyterian are to be driven and led by the people of the church as they are raised up and empowered by His Spirit.

To small groups:  Small groups are one of the most effective ways of building relationships, encouraging spiritual growth and developing new leaders (Luke 6:12-16, Colossians 1:28-29).  Therefore, we will strive to make such groups available to the congregation in a variety of ways, and encourage participation in them.

To growth:  While numerical growth is not always a sign of God's blessing, we believe that God desires us to grow and reach out with the Word of God and the message of salvation (Matthew 28:19-20).  Therefore, we will strive to enhance numerical as well as spiritual growth.
